WATER SERVICE LINE INVENTORY

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires that all community water systems (CWS) water systems develop an inventory of all service line connections.

LEAD SERVICE LINE INVENTORY

As part of the Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR) published December 16, 2021, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires that all community water systems (CWS) and non-transient non-community (NTNC) water systems develop an inventory of all service line connections, both system-owned and customer-owned.  The inventory must identify the potential presence of lead within each service line connection.

During the next several months, Town of Plymouth employees will be doing an inventory of water service lines throughout the town to determine the type of water pipe that is connected to both sides of the water meter.  To make this determination, it might be possible that workers might have to dig a hole on the Town's side, and/or on the customer's side of the meter.  They will dig as small a hole as possible to see the pipe, and fill the hole back.
